(Sunday) Appropriate Scale in a Localized World:  A Conversation About Technology

We’ve all heard it: “technology is neither good nor bad; it all depends on how it is used.”  How true is this?  Are some technologies more suited to democratic, egalitarian, resilient economies and communities than others?  How do we go about assessing the impacts of various technologies on our daily and cumulative lives, and the values we hold dear?
